The truth as I know it:

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time & miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands. ~~~ Kristi Larson

Who me.... non-committal?

I can't even commit not to commit to anything.  So here I am, breaking my "silence" after only three weeks.  I can't help it, I miss everyone.  I feel like I've not heard from my best buddies in weeks now and I'm just sure that your life is not the same without me! hehehe  Besides, our kids are out of school today because of the storms here over the weekend so Mama needs a little sanity break.

If you have seen the news you know that Tennessee is now pretty much under water, or at least a good portion of it.  Our house is fine, but I have three friends who have lost pretty much everything in the floods.  Two of them did NOT live in a flood plain and therefore had no flood insurance.  It's devastating to see how people have been affected by this and it's such a helpless feeling to sit and watch the water rise and know there is nothing that can be done to stop it.

In the meantime, please just pray for the folks who have lost everything and especially those who lost family members. It is going to be a mess here for quite a while.  And please pray for me that I haven't completely lost my mind.  Our 4th grade students are walking 26 miles this week and I signed up to walk with Jack the first day (which is the 16 miles stretch.)  What was I thinking?

Ahem . . . sorry I haven't emailed . . . I seriously mean to . . . have some stuff for you to mull over . . . BUT soooooo glad you're back!

I'm impressed with the 16 miles . . . I should do something like that too!

I hadn't heard about the flooding. Yikes - hard stuff to deal with. (Strangely enough, we lived on an old flood plain in BC, and we couldn't buy insurance for our bottom floor . . . technically, it was only supposed to be garage space and when we finished it, it was at our own risk . . . )

I missed you blogging :)

16 miles. Good grief! Good luck with that and I hope you don't have to paddle any of it! I saw the flooding on the news over here and it looks dreadful. Glad to hear you are all ok and I hope that the water begins to drain off soon.

So glad your back!
And the internet images and videos of home are UNBELIEVABLE.
It's at times like this that the distance is hard.
Glad you and yours are safe and dry.
Praying for all our other neighbors!
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
Kim

My sister lives in Franklin and she was telling me about all the flooding. We went through it here about 6 months ago - not fun to deal with at all,

I am glad you are okay. I will definitely say my prayers for everyone who lost their home. Good luck on your walk with Jack!
