The truth as I know it:

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time & miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands. ~~~ Kristi Larson

Got any good suggestions?

I am really desperately in need of a great book.  I have read alot of stuff recently that maybe broadened my perspective or changed my point of view, educated me on a topic that I most likely had hoped never to be educated on, or in general, was probably to my betterment, but maybe not to my entertainment.  I have been feeling some major writers block lately on the blog and I think I need some serious inspiration.

SOO.... please tell me what book you've ready lately that you LOVED!  What is the best book you've ever read?  I am listing my top few books in case you haven't read these, they are must-reads if you're a reader:

1.  The Poisonwood Bible
2.  The Twilight Series (I know, how can I still consider myself a serious reader?)
3.  Ahab's Wife
4.  The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood
5.  Crazy Love

So... there you have it... some good suggestions to dig into for the Holiday.  Please share your suggestions... I'm in a dry spell.

Thanks!

Jukie Kenner's Demon-Hunter series is fabulous - action, paranormal, humor, and a heartbreaker of a love story that develops over the series. The first one is Carpe Demon. Imagine Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a soccer mom. Highly recommended.

"created to be his helpmeet" by debi pearl and "trusting God even when life hurts" by jerry bridges. both of them changed my walk dramatically and profoundly :)

I am a big fan of two authors -- Jodi Picolet (I think I spelled it wrong - it's been too long since I had a reading moment!) and also Marian Keyes. Marian is a little closer to chick lit - like a Irish Jennifer Weiner if you like her style.

Let me know what you decide on!

I have so many books Im in the middle of reading right now, and can't seem to get any of them done. Im reading "Bringing up Boys" by Dr. Dobson right now and several other adoption parenting books. For entertainment I read "A Walk to Remember" this summer by Nickolas Sparks- loved loved loved it. I also recently read "The Shack" which I thought was good- and challenging in my thinking about God- but not one to crack open and start reading just before you go to bed.

I loved Crazy Love too! One of my favorites!! The Shack is also a must-read. But, my all-time favorite book that I know you would love, that I just read not too long ago was "Same Kind of Different as Me" by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. It is amazing and is a true story of the friendship between a homeless man and a wealthy art dealer, and how God uses their friendship to change the hearts of people everywhere! They even wrote a follow-up book that tells alot of stories of how people changed and began to do God's work after reading their first book. It's amazing and one that I believe everyone should read. Let me know what you think if you read it!

Have you read, "The art of racing in the rain" by Garth Stein? If you love dogs, you will love this book. I had a good cry at the end of it for about a half an hour, it was so touching. Lots of life lessons in it as well.

If you haven't read "The Shack" yet you have to, but make sure you have a lot of time available as you won't want to put it down.

If you haven't read The Help, you have to run to get it! It's an amazing book. I also loved Still Alice. Both are somewhat heavy books, but so worth reading!

I'm just finishing up The Hole in our Gospel by Richard Stearns and it's really good. He's the CEO of Worldvision and it's his story of how he came to that position. He never wanted the worldvision position, but it's obvious that God wanted him to have it and it's pretty amazing how God intricately wove a plan together so that he would be working at worldvision. THere's some touching stories of his time overseas and how he views what our role as Christians are.
